Before the introduction of the Rotary Hearse Van service, Solan residents faced significant challenges during the difficult time of transporting deceased loved ones. Families had to carry bodies on their shoulders to the crematorium, which added to their emotional and physical burden. Recognizing this need, the Rotary Club of Solan took a commendable initiative in 2011-12. Under the visionary leadership of President Arun Trehan and Secretary Ajay Aggarwal, the club successfully mobilized resources and acquired a hearse van. This purchase was made possible through the generous donations and support of all club members during that period. Since its introduction, the Rotary Hearse Van has been a vital service for the community. It has provided a dignified means of transportation for the deceased, alleviating the hardships previously faced by grieving families. The service is offered free of cost, serving the Municipal Corporation of Solan with dedication and compassion.
